Tai Chi & Craniosacral Seminar
Tai Chi Chuan is a Chinese martial, healing art practiced in a series of dance-like steps and gestures. It is like a Swiss knife: one tool with multiple uses.
In this class we will use Tai Chi for sensing, feeling, listening and slowing down our whole system, thus entering a deeper level of awareness for the purpose of healing another being.
Craniosacral is a healing practice, a way to connect with the deepest essence of the conscious medium that is the body, which lies in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). As in the sea, there are different waves in our CSF, and different tides in our spine, and each one brings different levels of consciousness.
The craniosacral therapist is been trained to perceive the rhythm of the craniosacral system, observe the patterns and either trigger the blockage areas or just stay with them. It is not something she decides before hand. Reason has no place in this practice; she just follows the energy flow. She needs to know anatomy and to be technically correct, but in the therapy room she goes with what arises at each moment. She learns to accept all, stays still and gives the necessary time for changes to occur. Craniosacral is one of the deepest ways of therapy introduced by Dr. Sutherland in 1899.
Tai Chi and Craniosacral combined can assist the practitioners to tune into their own body/heart sensitivity and just listen to what the other body deeply needs in order to heal. It brings soma awareness firstly for ourselves and then of the others, so we are open to provide space for necessary adjustments to occur.
During this 6-days workshop, we will become familiar with the awareness of touch and techniques that can be used for a full craniosacral session of one hour. You will be introduced to craniosacral theory, brain anatomy and the awareness of touch, receive and give sessions among the group, practice tai chi and become familiar with different chi kung for cleansing and strengthening your inner energy.
By the end, you will deepen your understanding in craniosacral healing, connect with the inner healer, learn the art of listening and give one hour session of Craniosacral therapy.
The serene environment of the remoted beach of Haad Tien, in Koh Phangan is an ideal place to combine education, swimming, and walking with no shoes towards the class!
